No último sábado (14), o departamento de comunicação do maior banco estatal brasileiro, o Banco do Brasil, trouxe a público uma informação que pode impactar todos os 74 milhões de clientes da instituição. No comunicado oficial transmitido no início da manhã, José Patterson - Chefe de Segurança Digital do BB - informou que dados pessoais e financeiros foram acessados em servidores federais privados durante madrugada, a extensão do vazamento ainda está sendo analisada, mas já se sabe que pelos menos 70% do que havia armazenado foi acessado e comprometido, sendo esse o maior vazamento da história de uma instituição federal no mundo. Carlos Silva, chefe da divisão de crimes cibernéticos da Polícia Federal, também participou da transmissão e manifestou - se duramente: "O ocorrido dessa madrugada reforça a necessidade de reforçarmos o combate a crimes virtuais, estamos em um mundo digital e esse crime sem precedentes fortemente evidencia isso... Quero aqui deixar claro que já durante a madrugada uma força tarefa que inclui a Polícia Federal, Polícia Civil, ABIN e COAF foi instaurada, de modo a trazer perante a justiça todos os envolvidos".
Segundo fontes do Breaking News, a linha principal de investigação é interna, descartando assim qualquer trabalho de nações hostis ou grupos ligados a terrorismo. Oficialmente ainda não houve um posicionamento da força - tarefa, no entanto, a mesma fonte que indicou a linha de investigação, afirmou à reportagem que uma conhecida cyberladra brasileira é a principal suspeita de ter planejado essa ação que já custou, apenas hoje, 300 milhões de reais aos cofres públicos. Apelidada de SAND na Dark Web, Sandy Carine Souza da Silva, é conhecida no cenário de crimes virtuais desde os 12 anos, praticando pequenos golpes e derrubando sites, mas até então nada muito alarmante havia sido atribuído a ela. Pouco se sabe sobre a vida pessoal da suspeita, de modo que acredita - se que hoje ela tenha 15 anos e seja uma especialista em criptografia e programação avançada. Banco do Brasil suffers the biggest data leak in its history, Federal Police investigates the case
Last Saturday (14), the communications department of the largest Brazilian state bank, Banco do Brasil, released information that could impact all 74 million customers of the institution. Nicknamed SAND on the Dark Web, Sandy Carine Souza da Silva, is known in the cybercrime scene since she was 12 years old, practicing small scams and taking down websites, but until then nothing very alarming had been attributed to her.
